Msheireb Downtown Doha celebrate Eid Al-Fitr by capturing activations for the whole family

Doha, Qatar, 18 April 2023: Msheireb Downtown Doha will mark the Eid Al-Fitr with celebration and captivating activities all around the city, promising one of the biggest and most engaging Eid festivals for visitors of all ages.

The celebrations at Msheireb Downtown Doha reflect its commitment to creating a joyful experience for the community to come back and connect with their roots. The activations ensure memorable moments for the visitors to spend Eid time with their beloved in a safe, fun place.

The guests will be welcomed with flowers from Floward to start a pleasant experience. From 21 to 28 April 2023, starting at 5 PM, the Barahat Msheireb will create unforgettable memories in an immersive experience featuring captivating musical performances and enchanting storytelling sessions. Guests can also preserve their special Eid moments at the immersive 360-photobooth, where they can capture unique and memorable photos. The food and beverages station offers a delectable array of culinary delights, candies and desserts.

The Barahat will also feature a range of activities designed to ignite the imagination and creativity of children, ensuring they have a blast during the celebration. From arts and crafts to interactive experiences and games, children will have plenty of opportunities to unleash their creativity and make the most of the festivities.

The Baraha Square will also feature magical nights of elegant music by talented musicians who will mesmerize the audience with the enchanting sounds of the violin, piano, and saxophone.

Sikat Wadi Msheireb will be the perfect destination for an unforgettable celebration with a wide variety of fun and entertaining activities for all age groups. Kids can participate in a fun and simple Eid trivia contest for a chance to win Eid vouchers from participating outlets in Msheireb Downtown Doha. kids will be invited on stage to answer simple trivia questions and win an Eid voucher from participating outlets in Msheireb Downtown Doha. With over 30 winners every day, 240 lucky winners will be selected throughout the 8-day celebration. The show starts from 7:30 to 8:30 PM for the eight-day celebrations.

Families can come together to indulge in delicious treats from over 15 kiosks and enjoy the lively atmosphere as they watch their children take part in the celebrations. Music Entertainment performers and singers will keep the Sikkat Al Wadi area activated throughout the joyful days of Eid Al Fitr at 3 different stations

Visitors will experience the excitement of family-friendly roaming performers, provided by Qatar Tourism, with eye-catching costumes, dance skills, and captivating stage acts such as magic shows, dance performances, funny clowns and interactive games. Music entertainment performers and singers will keep the festive ambience activated throughout the joyous days of Eid Al-Fitr in Sikkat Alwadi and Msheireb Galleria.

They can also experience the Lady Bug Train, a fun and joyful activity where they can take part in a joyful ride in Msheireb Galleria and enjoy their time

The Ministry of Municipality will be organizing a fun and interactive planting workshop for children in Sikkat Al Ghafa on 22 and 23 April from 6 to 9 PM. Participants will have the opportunity to experience planting and take home an actual plant to nurture.

From 17 April to 27 April, the Ministry of Social Development and Family organize fun and engaging activities, including face painting, drawing and colouring workshops, in addition to Henna Artists. These activities will take place next to Homegrown in Sikkat Al Wadi from 5:00 – 11:00 PM.

The other streets and neighbourhoods of the city will also be marking the holy occasion. People can Enjoy Music Entertainment performers and singers will be spreading joy across various areas in Msheireb Downtown Doha, including Al Kahraba Street.

 

Msheireb Museums hosts lecture on ‘Islam and the Environment as part of ‘Earth Talk’ series

Doha, Qatar, April 17, 2023: Msheireb Museums, the leading cultural and tourist destination at Msheireb Downtown Doha, in partnership with Arab Youth Climate Movement Qatar (AYCMQ), hosted the second lecture in the Earth Talk Series on the topic, ‘Islam and the Environment’.

The ‘Earth Talk’ series is held every two months and features influential local and global experts who discuss a wide range of topics related to sustainability.

Held at Bin Jelmoud House, the lecture covered an introduction to Islamic Environmental Ethics, its practical applications, and its role in addressing the climate crisis.

Three keynote speeches were delivered by H.E. Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Sada, Assistant Undersecretary, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, (MoECC), HE Mr Timmy T. Davis, U.S. Ambassador to the State of Qatar, and Mr. Abdulla Al-Naama, Manager Msheireb Museums. The main presentation and talk were by Mark Bryant (Abdallah Bryant), Senior Consultant, Islamic Foundation for Ecology and Environmental Science and EcoIslam, United Kingdom.

H.E. Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Sada said that environmental protection is an important aspect of Islam and other regions, highlighting the responsibility of Muslims to care for the environment proactively. “Protection of the environment is an integral part of Islamic beliefs, and mankind has the responsibility to safeguard nature. We must take all necessary measures to ensure the preservation and protection of the environment and should pass this value to our coming generations in the best way possible.”

Mr. Abdulla Al-Naama, Manager Msheireb Museums highlighted the role of Msheireb Museums in raising awareness of such topics and promoting sustainability among community members. “The Earth Talks series is informative and insightful, with the second lecture focusing on introducing Islamic Environmental Ethics and its practical applications in addressing the climate crisis. It is important to further the conversation around the intersection of religion and the environment, and we should all take positive action to create a sustainable future for all”, he added.

Mark Bryant (Abdallah Bryant) delivered a detailed presentation showing how Islam urges people to conserve resources and protect the environment. He said: “These aspects are highlighted in the principles of Islam and the Quran. Islam has a very strong environmental ethic, and Islam is environmental. Muslims often need to relearn this because it is part of their faith, and we need to emphasize this part in our life to save ourselves and the rest of the planet and be good Muslims.”

Bryant highlighted the importance of such lectures to learn from the past for securing a better future. “I am excited to be here at Msheireb Museums in Qatar to exchange thoughts and insights, and I am confident that such talks will help spread our positive messages to the wider community.”

Previously held at Qatar National Library, Qatar Foundation, and other venues in Doha, the Earth Talk lectures have drawn a wide range of community members, high-level officials, and educators interested in sustainability.

The series fulfils Msheireb Downtown Doha and Msheireb Museums’ commitment to be leaders in sustainability and innovation and to advance the local conversation on the issues of climate change, ecological challenges and solutions, and corporate social responsibility.

Leading intellectuals and policymakers spark discussions on how to make a transformative change in the community for a better sustainable future. The series also invites representatives of NGOs and development agencies to provide on-the-ground perspectives.

  • Ramadan activations at Al Baraha and Sikkat Alwadi continue to attract visitors of all ages

 

Doha, Qatar, April 3, 2023 – Msheireb Downtown Doha is gearing up to celebrate the Garangao on the evenings of 5 and 6 April, featuring several local events and activations.

Msheireb Downtown Doha celebrates the Garangao to contribute to reviving the local traditions and habits. The Garangoa celebrations kicks off at 7:30 PM until 8:30 PM with a unique experience for children on board of Msheireb tram who will take a tour in the city’s neighbourhoods and streets and receive sweets and treats.

From 8:30 to 10:30 PM, children of all ages will have the chance to show their appreciation to their local culture and costumes with the Garangao Kids Fashion festival that will take place at Sahat Al-Nakheel in Sikkat Alwadi street. They will have a 360-photography opportunity so their photos will be displayed on the MDD screens and M7 façade. Registration for the Kids Fashion Festival is required.

Msheireb Downtown Doha lit up in blue to show support for World Autism Awareness Day

 

Marking the World Autism Awareness Day, Msheireb Properties shared Qatar and the world their global message in supporting the rights of people with Autism and raising awareness among community members about this cause.
