Doha, Qatar (26 November 2022) – Frida Kahlo – The Immersive Biography welcomes visitors in Msheireb Museum’s Bin Jelmood House in the heritage zone of Msheireb Downtown Doha.

The immersive experience is a journey through the life story of Frida Kahlo, one of the world’s most iconic artists. Accompanied by a unique collection of photographs capturing known and unknown moments of the artist’s life using video mapping technique,  creates a memorable experience for visitors by transporting them into Frida’s world.

The theme explored in the experience is Frida Kahlo’s difficult life which is marked by prolonged illness and great passions. Frida Kahlo was able to transform her immobility into opportunities and her sufferings into works of art full of energy.  The stories of her passion for art, Mexico and tormented love for Diego Rivera, the companion of her lifetime will be told through an immersive creative medium.

Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter, born on 6 July 1907, known for her many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico. Inspired by the country’s popular culture, she employed a unique art style to explore questions of identity, postcolonialism, class, and race in Mexican society. In 1925 Kahlo was involved in a bus accident, which so seriously injured her that she had to undergo more than 30 medical operations in her lifetime. During her slow recovery, Kahlo taught herself to paint.

Her paintings often had strong autobiographical elements and mixed realism with fantasy. Kahlo has been described as a surrealist or magical realist. She is known for painting about her experience of chronic pain. Her paintings were displayed in Paris and Mexico. She passed away on 13 July 1954, and is still considered as one of the most famous artist in the world.

Hosted in the heart of downtown Doha, Frida Kahlo – The Immersive Biography is part of the cultural, art and entertainment activities hosted in Msheireb Downtown Doha as part of the World Cup activations. It is a collaboration between Msheireb Properties, CELS Group, Frida Kahlo Corporation and Next Exhibition.

Doha, Qatar (23 November 2022) – As the excitement runs through the country in celebration of football, Msheireb Downtown Doha is offering special activations to show Al Annabi spirit and support for the Qatari National Team.

The special event reiterates the nation’s confidence in our national heroes and shows the support of the community to AlAnnabi Team. The activations will start at 5 pm t Al Annabi Village at Msheireb Museums and will continue with street parades in the Msheireb Downtown Doha. Visitors and fans can gather to cheer for the team and create memorable experiences.

Maryam Al Jassem, Manager of PR and Communication, at Msheireb Properties stated: “We are excited to share this special event in support of our national team with fans and visitors at the heart of Doha. We encourage everyone to come and show their Al Annabi spirit and celebrate the joyous moment together. • An exhibition and experience of football in South America

Doha, Qatar, 22 November 2022: The CONMEBOL – Tree of Dreams organised by the organization for soccer in South America in collaboration with Msheireb Properties which documents the history and achievements of football in the Latin continent, welcomes visitors and fans from all around the world.

CONMEBOL – Tree of Dreams is located in Sikkat Al-Wadi at Msheireb Downtown Doha and is one of the many activations of the Sikkat Alwad International Festival which features shows, exhibitions, and events that adds a cultural taste to football.

CONMEBOL – Tree of Dreams features three experiences: Player Gallery, Player Experience, and Best Tournaments. It reflects the roots of South American football, from the Maracanã to the potrero pitches of the barrios and encapsulates a distinct South American spirit in football found nowhere else. Explore a tree inspired by the roots of soccer in the South American region.

From the Maracanã stadium to the popular neighbourhood playgrounds, the tree provides life to the barrios that surround it, connecting South American football’s past, present and future.

The experience displays images, photos and information about the best players in the continent including Pele and Maradona who are always football icons. Fans have the opportunity to capture memorable photos of trophies and cups that the states of the federation have won, and also show their skills in a dedicated playing area.

The football federation of South America, CONMEBOL, oversees organizing football competitions including Copa America and Copa Libertadores cup. It was founded on 9 July 1916 to unite sports in the South American continent.

The activations in Msheireb Downtown Doha continue to charm visitors and fans offering them a holistic experience that adds glamour to football.

The CONMEBOL – Tree of Dreams opens from 9 AM until midnight during the World Cup tournament.
