Msheireb Museums Announces Exciting Summer Program for 2024

Doha, Qatar – July 17, 2024 – Msheireb Museums announced an array of exciting summer activities set to delight visitors of all ages. From immersive experiences to creative workshops, Msheireb Museums is the ultimate summer destination for learning and discovery from mid-July  to August 25th, 2024.

Housed in four heritage houses in the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha, Msheireb Museums serves as a dynamic platform for community engagement and lifelong learning. Through its diverse programs and exhibitions, the museums aim to inspire curiosity, promote cultural awareness, and encourage creative thinking among visitors of all backgrounds.

Programme Highlights:

  • Lego Printmaking: A family workshop combining art and engineering for ages 8-12
  • Weaving: Learn the art of weaving, for ages 6 and up
  • Arabic Calligraphy: Explore the beauty of Arabic script, for ages 6 and up
  • Lego DNA: A family science workshop building DNA models, for ages 8-12
  • Paper Recycling: Discover sustainable crafting techniques, for ages 13 and up
  • Gypsum Crafts: Create decorative objects using traditional materials, for ages 13 and up

August workshops will include resin art, , 3D printing, solar-powered miniatures, and embroidery. All workshops will take place at various Msheireb Museums locations.

The programme reflects Msheireb Museums’ commitment to preserving Qatari heritage while embracing innovation. Workshops are designed to be both educational and entertaining, encouraging participants to explore new skills and perspectives.

Skill Fest Zone at Msheireb Galleria (15 July – 15 August)

Kicking off the summer festivities, the Skill Fest by Visit Qatar at Msheireb Galleria will engage visitors in various skill-enhancing activities. This dynamic event is designed to inspire creativity, innovation, and personal growth through interactive sessions and hands-on experiences.

The Skill Fest Zone will also include an exhibition on Qatar’s stunning natural landscapes and marine ecosystems, showcasing the work of wildlife photographer and artist Azzam Al Mannai.

The Play Zone at Msheireb Galleria (15 July – 31 August)

A creative pop-up play area will also be set up for the younger crowd for endless fun. This imaginative space will allow children to explore, create, and express their creativity in a safe and engaging environment.

The Maze Zone at Msheireb Galleria (18 July – 31 August)

The Giant Maze will provide a modern twist on a nostalgic experience for all ages. Designed with dynamic lighting, captivating sound effects, the Maze activation will immerse participants in active play. 

The Splash Zone at Msheireb Galleria Roof Terrace (1st August– 31 August)

An inflatable water activity located on the roof terrace of the Msheireb Galleria. This exciting attraction will feature a variety of water inflatables for all ages to enjoy, including a refreshments area and comfortable family seating arrangements.

Msheireb Galleria’s Checklist Version 2, running from 15-31 August will welcome the back to school activities, taking a look back at traditional Qatari school days, complete with a vintage school theme. Visitors will engage with displays of vintage school items and notebooks, enjoy spelling bees, face painting, arts and crafts, and storytelling sessions in a dedicated reading nook. Complementing this immersive experience, retail booths will sell school products to help families get ready for the new school year.
